Job Summary: 

The Good Shepherd Community Clinic, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bilingual Front Office Receptionist to join our team at our Bloom (Women's Health) Clinic. In this crucial role, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Your primary responsibilities will include managing patient information in our electronic health record (EHR) system, handling communication through phone, email, and fax, and offering professional interpreting services for our Spanish-speaking patients. Additionally, you will assist patients with information about the clinic, eligibility for Medicare or Medicaid benefits, and facilitate their navigation through these processes. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Patient Interaction and Data Management 
  • Welcome and greet patients and guests with exceptional customer service. 
  • Enter and update patient information in the EHR system accurately. 
  • Ensure demographic information is current and correct at each visit. 
  • Collect and record patient fees, balance receipts, and make deposits. 
  • Assist patients with understanding and accessing Medicare and Medicaid benefits. 
Communication and Coordination 

  • Answer, return, and forward telephone calls, emails, and faxes promptly and professionally. 
  • Schedule appointments and notify the medical team of patient arrivals and any delays. 
  • Take and distribute messages to the appropriate staff members. 
Document Handling and Administration 

  • Scan, fax, and copy documents as necessary. 
  • Ensure all required documents are received and properly entered into the EHR. 
  • Maintain patient files in accordance with confidentiality standards and HIPAA regulations. 
  • Prepare departmental correspondence to referring agencies and primary care providers. 
Patient Support and Interpreting Services 

  • Provide on-site interpreting services for Spanish-speaking patients. 
  • Assist patients with Consultation Planning and Recording services as requested. 
  • Link patients with appropriate resources and referrals to outside agencies. 
  • Remind patients of appointments and maintain documentation of patient contact and services provided. 

Team Collaboration and Personal Development 

  • Work independently with support and supervision from the Patient Access Manager. 
  • Promote teamwork and collaboration with other staff members. 
  • Maintain personal knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid resources, medical terminology, procedures, and treatment protocols. 
  • Uphold GSCC’s Policies and Procedures and ensure patient safety and risk management.

Compensation: $15.00 - $21.00 per hour
